Day 9 Oct 26 2009 - Emissions Test, R3 Mall, Dum Phukt

The weekend went by quickly, so all of a sudden it was Monday again. At 10.30 am our driver picked us and to the SEWA office we went. On the way there we passed the R3 Mall which is just about 1-1,5 km from the Ginger Hotel. Soon and I decided to pay it a visit in the evening. Despite taking us directly to the office, our driver decided it was about time to have the car's semiannually emission test done. So for the moment we ended up at a car garage first which is just a stone throw away from the temples we had visited just a day before. We passed or better the car passed the test and we continued on to SEWA.

On Monday we had a longer meeting with Mohammadi and Rushi, the project managers at SEWA to see if we were on track rearding the Statement of Work and should continue to model the use cases for their future Membership Management System. Except for some minor changes we agreed on our approach and continued to work on the use cases. On our ride back we told the driver to drop us off at the R3-Mall and so he did. He had obviously given up on trying to understand why these crazy foreigners wanted to go to all these places took pictures of just about everything, even the smallest things. The R3 Mall was much to our dissapointment, shops were pretty much all closed, out we went within just a few minutes. We took the chance to visit a nearby temple, which is just a few steps away and on the way back to the hotel to meet with the other members of the Rangoli Team.

We discussed the status of our respective project assignments and also brainstormed on how to deal with some of the tasks we have been assigned. The evening ended with a dinner a Dum Phukt (= Steam cooking), by now one of our favorite places as it is just a 2-minute walk from the hotel and the food is quite tasty. We started to wonder why, regardless of the number of persons there, it always takes at least one hour before we get our meal. But it is certainly worth the wait and while waiting we always enjoy our Lassis (a Yoghurt-based drink, either served sweet or salty). As Eva was not in the best of moods we had to cheer her up - isn't that what Teaming is all about?
